Photo Album: Water Issues for Duluth, MN Fixed with Sump Pump and Vapor Barrier

The homeowner recently purchased this Duluth, MN home and noticed water issues in the basement shortly thereafter. The block wall foundation was prone to taking on water, resulting in constant clean-up in the basement. The owner wanted to fix the water issues for an overall safer and more usuable basement. DBS Design Specialist Rich Johnsen is an expert in basement waterproofing and visited the home to provide a thorough inspection. It was determined that drain tile would be installed as well as a new sump pump to protect the basement against water intrusion.DBS Foreman Dustin Behning and his crew worked on the interior waterproofing job. The crew began by breaking out concrete to create a trench around the home's footing. Our WaterGuard® drain system was put into place and will effectively capture wall and floor seepage, directing it to a new UltraSump™ sump pump with battery back-up. CleanSpace®, a thick, white poly sheet material was then installed to direct any water leaking from the walls into the drain system below.  CleanSpace® makes an excellent covering for basement foundation walls. The crew finished the job by burying the discharge line in the lawn away from the home.  This family can now rest easy knowing their basement has the utmost protection in waterproofing technology.
