Concrete Walkway Lifted, Leveled, and Repaired at Duluth MN Restaurant
Challenge
This local Duluth, MN restaurant was experiencing problems with a front walkway that had become unlevel and was cracking/chipping. It was becoming a possible tripping hazard for visiting customers and had become a nuisance to the company. The front walkway of a company or a home has an effect on the first impression someone has when entering that new place. To create a positive first impression on customers or visitors it is important to have a hazard free walkway with an attractive look. This company made the right decision to have the problem fixed, helping to get rid of the tripping hazard and provide a more pleasant experience for customers first entering the business.
Solution
In order to fix this problem we needed to lift and level part of the concrete and repair an area that had become chipped and had unsightly previous repairs. We are able to lift and level the concrete slabs using our polyurethane foam concrete lifting solution called PolyLevel. With PolyLevel we drill small penny sized holes in the concrete to allow room to inject the polyurethane foam under the slab to allow for precise lifting. When the slab has achieved the appropriate amount of lifting and is level we use concrete to fill in the previous drilled holes. Though not appropriate in this situation, it would be safe to drive a car on this slab as soon as 15 minutes after completion. Following the use of PolyLevel we chipped out the old concrete that had cracked and replaced it with a new 8 inch wide strip of concrete. This walkway now looks practically brand new and provides a level, hazard free entrance to the restaurant.
