Concrete Repair Service in Onamia, MN
Challenge
Sinking concrete can be a big issue for several reasons. It poses safety concerns for anyone that walks along it, and is a hassle for snow shoveling during the winter months. This was exactly the case for a school building in Onamia, MN that needed some serious work done on their front entrance concrete walkway. An individual reached out to DBS regarding the concrete sinking drastically, and certain areas needing to be leveled out. Since this was a public building with many people coming in and out, the issue needed to be addressed. DBS sent out Design Specialist Royce Bunn to inspect the area and provide a free, no-obligation estimate for the service. It was concluded that the concrete would need PolyLevel® to lift and level it. Aside from that, a portion of the walkway would need to be cut and freshly poured with new concrete mixture in order to fix properly.
Solution
The crew was ready to go to work. A PolyLevel® injection was made in the areas needed, and those results turned out great. PolyLevel® is a polymer injection that is embedded beneath the surface of a portion of concrete. Once it is placed, the polymer foam starts expanding and forces the concrete to rise up and level out. It is a very efficient solution to sunken concrete. After the PolyLevel® was injected, NexusPro™ was applied to the cracks running through the concrete in order to seal them up.
In many cases, PolyLevel® injections can do just fine in leveling out any concrete area. However, this walkway had a unique portion that needed to be replaced with freshly poured concrete. The crew took a chop saw to cut out the perimeter of the concrete, which was approximately a 1x18 ft. area. After all the debris was taken care of, it was time for the new concrete to be poured. It was good as new. The concrete was replaced, and the front entrance was made safe again for those who occupy it.
